Nissan Latio (Severe Paint Correction)

This was the issue that troubled the owner, she came to me and ask what can be done to rectify it. Upon closer inspection of the accident spot, some of the paint on the bumper was scrapped off and there were alot of foreign paint on it. After inspecting the whole car, i recommended her to took up our comprehensive polishing service as the paint condition of the car required correction and the interiors were quite soiled.

The car was washed and clayed. Paint coating level were took prior the paint correction work. The paint coating level range from 115 - 138 microns, mean was about 125 microns. For a 5 years old car, the coating level seems healthy.

The passenger side door paint coating seemed to had been levelled alot.

This was the paint condition of the car. Swirl marks, water etched marks, scuff marks, RIDS and light oxidation, all these made the paint dull. There were also many little deep etching marks that had went through the paint. Conclusion drawn for me was this car had very minimal maintenance done to the paintwork.

This was the 50/ 50 test panel, left side was the original condition before any correction work done and right side was after 2 rounds of paint correction. The RIDS was still quite evident even after the 2 rounds (on the top of the light reflection) of paint correction.

After 30 min, the RIDS was safely removed during the 5th round of correction and this was the 80% completed test panel. We had to burnish it prior the LSP application. I was contemplating over wax or sealant for the LSP... hmmm... maybe i will go for wax.

The following were some 'before' and 'after' shots of different panels.
1. Rear boot panel - There were 2 RIDS found here. (Before)

1.1 Rear boot panel - Left 1 RIDS for next grooming session. (After)

2. Roof panel (Before)

2.1 Roof panel (After)

3. Front bonnet A (Before)

3.1 Front bonnet A (After)

4. Front bonnet B (Before)

4.1 Front bonnet B (After)

These were the conditions of the interior vinyl and leather. The classy beige interior had turned ugly as there were alot of stains everywhere. To minimize headache, avoid beige or light colour for interior, it's never easy to take care/ maintain for end user.
The half leather suede seats were badly stained.

These were the conditions of the interior after intensive cleaning, definitely look much better and smell miles better... lolz.

Finally at the end of 7 hrs of comprehensive detailing makeover, this Nissan Latio has rebirth. It's in a pristine condition once again, enjoy the pictures.

The accident spot was remedy, not as good as a respray job but the owner was pleased with the entire session.

Thank you for viewing the posting, cheers.
