Mitsubishi Lancer GLXI (Severe Paint Correction)

The conditions of the car paint upon closer inspection really shocked me. These were the pictures taken after the foam washing and claying process. There were many little "craters" on the entire car caused by the etching through the paint. The strong lightings revealed other very bad etching caused by bird poo and rain water. I suspected that there was little or no maintenance done to the paint. The overlapping etching marks on the paint looks like fish scales and the amount of RIDS and swirls were all over the entire car.

This picture shown was the reflection of the square halogen lighting mounted on the ceiling in the petrol service station. I could hardly see the square outline of the halogen lamp as the amount of defects have really broke the shape.

I began the paint correction on the car and it was tough!! There were really layers and layers of defects to correct. This picture was taken after more than 5 passes and notice the little craters on the surrounding paint.

This picture was taken after more than 8 passes with various different product and i decided to stop the paint correction. I called and talked to the owner on the risks of premature lacquer failure and we agreed to stop the correction. I proceed with the finishing with extra caution.

These were the pictures taken after buffing out the sealant. There was nothing much i can do to improve the "craters".

Is this a case of unattended dried up bird poo over weeks? The situation would be much better if there were maintenance done on the paint. Respraying would be the option here.

I took more than 5 hrs to finish the detailing job. This was really a tough session and i advised the owner to really take care of the car after this. Every paint correction is at the expense of the integrity of the clear coat. Prevention is better than cure and periodic grooming is a must to preserve the clear coat. Thank you for viewing.

Black Nissan Sunny (Severe Paint Correction)

I was left with less than 4 hrs to finish this detailing session as the owner was late for his appointment. As usual, the car was foam wash and clayed prior paint condition assessment. Car was parked under strong lightings. I was pretty shocked by the results of the check as the owner told me his car conditions was ok over the phone when he made his appointment. Now i learnt that our ok actually has some difference... hahaha.

I doubt it was going to be easy to detail this car and i was kind of behind time after the initial preparations. I spend close to 2 hrs to perform the paint correction and left barely enough time for the interior grooming. It was already quite late and my wife was helping me out with the buffing of the wax when i took this picture.

These were the pictures taken after i had finished the whole detailing and i was flat out as i had done 2 cars in the day already.

Overall, i was quite satisfied with the detailing despite the time constraint. Thank you for viewing this detailing.

Blue Mazda 3 (Mild Paint Correction)

This car was barely 6 months old and the paint condition was consider quite ok. These were the pictures taken after the foam washing and claying. The car was covered with swirl marks and some random isolated scratches.

I noticed that the front right fender panel had some obvious scratches and the owner told me that it was caused by wiping the dried bird poo with tissue paper.

The AutoGlym Super Resin Polish couldn't remove the defect effectively, after that my wife tried another medium abrasive product by hand to remove the scratches.

The scratches were eventually removed by hand and the entire car was burnished with a RO buffer prior LSP application. These were the pictures taken after buffing out the LSP, cheers.

White Honda Civic EG

This EG6 was among some of the last detailing session before CNY and this car was very nicely modded. The car used to be very notorious in the 90's for it's DOHC VTEC engine, best in the 1.6L NA category... IMO, no horse run! This 90's NA gem is really getting very rare these days, anyway back to topic. The car was given medium paint correction for it's condition and finished off with AG EGP.

My wife gave a helping hand on the windows while the sealant was curing and i was resting and taking pictures. This car really gave me the backache as it was very very low.

These were the finishing pictures after buffing out the sealant.

Thank you for viewing this detailing session.

White Bimmer (BMW 7 Series)

This great white was very nicely modded and the owner wanted to try AutoGlym High Definition wax on it after he saw some of the cars on this wonderful product. The condition of the paint work was assessed prior waxing and there were only very minor superficial swirling. I done some paint cleaning on the car after i found some stains on the white body.

The stains were all removed and the very light swirling were mostly eliminated after the cleaning. AG HD wax was applied after i cleaned and checked the car as HD wax is a pure finishing LSP.

These were the pictures after the waxing.
