Let's Sort Out The Paint Work

A Mazda 3, it's black in colour and going to 6 years old. Not alot has been done to the car's paint work for the last couple of years and it has to be sorted out before the owner's big day in 3 days time. The car had a respray job done before as the clarity of the paint work was noted quite poorly done. The affected area can be seen quite clearly due to the poor workmanship of the respray job.

usual marring noted on the bonnet/ hood panel...

marring again, seem deeper with etched markings.

small tiny pores noted underneath the load of defects...

After seeing all the defects on this car, i was ready to zoom zoom on the paint correction job, it could be another 5-6 hours of hard work and sweating. Let's see the paint coating level, the bonnet/ hood panel gave high paint coating levels and the rest of the other panels were relatively low.

hmmm... 352 microns, lots of putty being layered over here...

At 46 microns, this panel (above) may be the OEM paint coating level and was kind of low for full correction work.

Average of 4 hits across the car to exfoliate the old paint and get some gloss & clarity back. Major panels were slapped again with another 4 hits to get some decent results.

The tiny pores (above) were quite evident even after most of the defects were cleared, i shall not meddle with it anymore.

More finish pictures coming, finally it's Zoom Zoom time for everyone!

8 hours were used up to rejuvenate this ride, i'm beat and tomorrow got more correction work to come. Thanks for viewing, cheers.
